 Not working so well after a couple of days. July 24, 2010

I just bought one of these. For the first day or two, it worked as others describe. I had it in a walk-in closet. When I entered, it would turn on from six feet away and remain on for perhaps 10 or 20 seconds (I forget exactly) after I left or stopped moving.
But now something has gone wrong. I have to move within less than a half inch of the bottom to turn it on, and it stays on for less than two (2) seconds after I stop moving.
Others seem to like it, so I guess I'll order a second. Hopefully I just got a bad one. It's not worth returning the first one.

This light is extremely useful and portable.
The built in magnet in the bottom of the light makes the light stick almost anywhere.
I constantly move this around the house wherever I need this light , bathroom, bed room, backyard and the shed.
This can be use as a good flash light, lamp, reading light, power failure emergency light etc..
Since this light has led light bulb, takes very little amount of power from battery also.
If u have kids who afraid of dark, stick one of these in the hallway or in the kids room or bathroom or right by the bed so a little motion of hand turn the light on.
This will replace ur flash lights, camping lamp, power failure light, night light, reading light,emergency light.
I read the reviews of the users all different point of views and they all makes senses, but over all u will grow to like this very very useful light.

I was looking for a replacement for the motion detecting floodlight for the driveway that has never worked right for my husband leaving early for work to save money by not having to leave a light on and I saw this and ordered four. The magnet is great! I put one on the inside and one on the outside of the front door so the inside one lights when you step into the vestibule and the other lights when you open the door to go out to the car. Absolutely Perfect! They not real bright but then I didn't want to read a book, just see where we're stepping. Would definitely buy again!

This is a really, really well-thought out device. Kudos to Sylvania. I bought two of these to light up dark closets. The price was great, and they came with batteries included, which is an added value. The sensors and lights work great, and the ability adjust the head makes it easy to position in any location. In addition, you have the option to attach the light's snap-in wall mount with screws, a magnet (another great touch) or enclosed double-sided adhesive tape. I was in a hurry, and close the last option. The tape seemed sturdy enough, and I was not going to be moving the lights once installed.
Unfortunately, after about a month, and the onset of more humid weather, the adhesive tape failed, and the lights fell on the floor and broke.
The moral of the story is- if you are mounting these on a wall, use screws or a more sturdy method than the tape enclosed. Otherwise these lights are wonderful.

Product is perfect for our small, dark closet. The adhesive tape did not hold, but the option to use screws solves that problem. I do recommend this product.
