4 out of 5 stars Something not quite right   September 13, 2009

This unit is light and comfortable. It also provides very powerful light...sometimes. I find that mine tends to flicker from bright to dim (shaking it has no real effect on whether it is bright or dim). Also, the light is too diffuse to be of real use in an outdoor situation (ie, getting in the woods early in the morning before that big buck runs by your stand). Though, I primarily bought this for reading in bed, for which it works well (when the light is not flickering). For outdoor use, look elsewhere.

4 out of 5 stars Good cheap headlamp   July 20, 2009

I like the higher end headlamps better, but this one is good quality for the price overall. The switch seems a bit cheap and I would prefer it to have dimming capability. It is very bright.

3 out of 5 stars A practical Head Lamp, with important warning.   February 25, 2009

I have used this Petzl headlamp with few problems so far. It has a light plastic housing and a comfortable elastic headband.
Immediately gratifying is to have the practical free use of your hands.
The 2 diodes shed sufficient light to walk through a dark basement, however they are not removable/replacable.
I am paricularly concerned about the batteries which seat in the plastic housing adjacent to your forehead when in use.
Of concern is the product warning that improper battery placement order may release explosive gases, and extremely corrosive liquids.
There is also an additional warning to not allow the batteries to overly discharge(ie.stored in the product unused for a period of time). As this may cause corrosive liquid leakage. Remember that this plastic light housing seats on your forhead above your eyes!
A safer, higher quality product, although a bit more expensive is suggested.

4 out of 5 stars functional   February 16, 2009

It has a nice bright light. I use it when I walk my dogs at night, when I'm crawling around in the attic, when I'm doing electrical work and need good close up light. The only thing I wish it had is a plastic cap over the 2 little lights because I'm so careless I'm afraid I'll break the bulbs. Also, I used to have one that I bought at Big Box Orange Logo home improvement store that had the capacity to tilt the light in any direction up or down. I really love that feature and this light doesn't have it. That is why i gave it a 4.

5 out of 5 stars Great light for night running   February 8, 2009

This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine. It is perfect for running the streets after dark. It provides enough light to see any hazards in time to avoid them.
