Amazon.com Product Description
While radon is a naturally occurring radioactive gas, high concentrations of radon gas in the home can be hazardous to you and your family's health. Radon can seep into your home's basement or crawl space through cracks in the foundation or walls, openings or spaces around sump pumps and drains, or construction joints or flaws. The First Alert radon test kit is listed under the EPA radon gas measurement proficiency program and can be completed in as few as two to three days. Included in the cost is the lab fee for an EPA listed lab and a return mailer. The test results are returned to you within 72 hours of lab receipt, and include the recommended next steps you will need to ensure the health of your household. --Bree Norlander

Ordered from eAccess on Friday, received Sat morning.
Test results e-mailed to me within 1 week after mailing.

The kit seemed to work well. I setup the kit, filled out the information and mailed it in. I got my results via email within a week or so. I bought two kits to check twice, and will report back if something different happens with the second kit.

5 out of 5 stars Worked Great, Fast Results   July 3, 2010

I was nervous about deciding which radon gas test kits to purchase since they all had mixed reviews here on amazon. I ended up ordering two of these to test our basement. They were easy to use, and I didn't have to pay any additional fees aside from adding postage to the envelope. I received the test results from the lab within 2 weeks (with no hassle unlike some of the other reviewers). I recommend these!

2 out of 5 stars Never received results   June 14, 2010

Like many others, I never received my results after months. Was able to log in on the website and see the results there. To my surprise the report claimed they received my test a whole month after it was mailed so it was invalid. I emailed the lab and they said this was emailed to me when it occurred and it probably went to my spam folder. They also said they can't be responsible for the USPS but they would send another kit free of charge.

Assuming the test actually works as advertised and you still want to do it - I suggest the following... I would return the sample via Priority Mail and log in to check the results at the website (save the TEST # to refer to!). Do not wait for notification of results and do not mail it via USPS First Class. If you do these things you are probably ok. Others seem satisfied otherwise.

There are likely better options though out there - just not at this price point.

This was very easy to use, however I never received my results. It doesn't look like the odds of getting your results are all that high. Something to keep in mind.
